At Grace United Methodist Church, we value the role that camping plays in helping children and youth grow in their walk with God. Church camps provide meaningful opportunities to experience Christian community, deepen faith, build friendships, and encounter God in new and lasting ways—often in ways that shape faith for a lifetime.
We encourage our children, youth, and families to participate in Iowa United Methodist Camps, including Lake Okoboji Camp and Camp Wesley Woods, where faith is nurtured through worship, learning, service, and fun. We also encourage participation in Riverside Bible Camp, located just outside of Story City, which offers another wonderful opportunity for children and youth to grow in faith and community.
Camping is an important part of our commitment to helping young people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Grace is committed to making camp accessible to our members. The church provides financial assistance to help cover a portion of camp registration costs for eligible Grace members. Our hope is that no one misses the opportunity to attend camp because of financial concerns. Families are encouraged to speak with the pastor if additional assistance is needed, as other campership opportunities may be available.
We believe camp is a place where faith takes root, questions are welcomed, and God’s love is experienced in powerful ways—and we are grateful to support our campers on that journey.
