Each November, Grace United Methodist Church participates in Ingathering, an annual United Methodist mission event that unites congregations across Iowa to show the love of Christ by ministering to the needs of people near and far. Ingathering’s purpose is to share tangible resources—relief kits, quilts, plastic bag mats, and more—with people facing hunger, poverty, disaster, and hardship. Churches gather items they’ve worked on throughout the year, including plastic bag sleeping mats, disaster relief buckets, birthing kits, quilts of love, and many other donations that bring hope and practical support to communities in need.

Rooted in Christ and guided by God’s grace, we see Ingathering as part of our call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world—sharing God’s love through service, generosity, and connectional ministry.
