At Grace United Methodist Church, we participate in a hands-on mission to turn donated plastic grocery bags into sleeping mats—using two special looms right here in our church. These mats are woven from “plarn” (plastic yarn made from grocery bags) and are shared through Midwest Mission to provide comfort and care for people in need.
Our group meets Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and is a welcoming community that loves having new people join in. There are many ways to help—cutting bags, weaving on the looms, or simply sharing in fellowship while serving together.
We are always in need of plastic grocery bag donations. If you have an overabundance of plastic bags, please consider dropping them off at the church. Even small contributions help us continue this meaningful ministry and live out Christ’s love in practical ways.
