At Grace United Methodist Church, we believe that Christian faith is not a destination—it is a journey. Like a pilgrimage, faith is a lifelong spiritual trek without a final endpoint, a path of growth, discovery, and deepening relationship with God and one another. We are rooted in Jesus Christ, and from that strong foundation we continue to grow in faith and grace. Along the way, we encounter challenge and adventure, questions and hope, all held together by God’s grace.
As a congregation of The United Methodist Church and a part of the Iowa Annual Conference, we seek to live with open hearts, open minds, and open doors. We believe God’s grace is for all people, and that faith grows best in a community where everyone is welcomed, valued, and invited to belong. Grounded in Christ’s love, we take seriously John Wesley’s conviction that there is “no holiness but social holiness”—no Christian life lived in isolation. We are made to travel together.
On this journey, we encourage one another and build one another up. At times, one pilgrim carries the strength or joy another needs. Later, the roles may reverse. As we remain rooted in Christ, we grow together—learning, serving, worshiping, and bearing fruit through lives shaped by grace. We trust that Christ walks beside us every step of the way. We never walk alone.
Our mission flows naturally from this shared journey: to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We do this by nurturing faith, practicing love, and inviting others to join us on the road. Rooted in Christ and growing in grace, we seek to follow Jesus faithfully in the world. Wherever you are on your journey—full of certainty or full of questions—you are welcome here. Please let us walk with you.
